VRS serie. Universal hardness tester for micro/macro Vickers, Knoop, Rockwell, Superficial Rockwell, Brinell and Shore test methods, in compliance with ASTM and ISO hardness standards. VRS Series are top level bench hardness testers for tough or lab applications. Fully motorized for fully automatic test cycles, with Vickers and Knoop indentation autoreading through a CCD high resolution camera and the relative software. Absolute accuracy (better than 0.5 %) in every condition. Load forces are applied through load cells and electronically controlled in Closed Loop (Pat. Affri). Exact hardness result on the first test and R&R data are at the top of its class. Digital durometers with LCD screen, user friendly interface, real time statistics and graphs and large archive storage. Hardness tests on all metals: Iron, steel, tempered steel, cast iron, brass, aluminum, copper and metal alloys. Heat treatment, hardening, nitriding, cementation and hardfacing. Hard and soft plastics. Knoop test on ceramic and glass materials.

ONE BUTTON MEASUREMENTS

Just press one button and the hardness tester’s head moves down to make contact with the sample’s surface, clamps the piece, applies the force, makes the indentation and goes back upwards. Within seconds results appear. For Vickers and Knoop indentations, just place the camera in reading position and the indent is automatically measured.

INDENTER AND CLAMPING HOOD STROKE

When testing unstable samples or deflective parts, the AFFRI System will follow the sample without loosing contact thank’s to its 50 mm stroke for indenter and clamping hood. Easy and fast hardness measurements on pieces with different thicknesses without acting on tester head or elevating screw.

CLOSED LOOP (PAT. AFFRI)

Load forces are applied through load cells and controlled in “Closed Loop” with a frequency of 1 khz, assuring perfect linearity in every range. Results are not affected by any structural deflection, misalignment, vibration or problems associated with dead weight systems on traditional testers.

REPEATABILITY AND REPRODUCIBILITY

Accurate measurements on the first test, even in extreme conditions, eliminate the need for repeated tests. The R&R data is at the top of its class.

AUTO INDENT READING

Thanks to the CCD high definition camera and to the AFFRI software, the indent reading process is automatic and assures absolute accuracy even if the samples surface isn’t perfect. From perfectly polished to rough and etched samples, the indentation auto-detection allows measurements on a variety of sample surfaces.

CLAMPING SYSTEM (PAT. AFFRI)

Secure contact with the specimen is always mantained, even in the unlikely event of any specimen movement during the operation cycle. The clamping system assures perfect stability of any test piece throughout the test cycle, even if it’s oiled, rusty or dirty.

X/Y TABLE

Sliding table 100×100 mm with 25 x 25 mm X/Y stroke and 10 μm step, for an easy and accurate positioning of the sample.

SOFTWARE VRS serie

AFFRI analyse system with fast and easy scales selection and test settings. Results and live statistics. Storage of data and test sessions.
